Value!

ValueOne of the biggest lessons I have learned in my marketing years is the power of value. I’ve seen all too many people trying to make a quick buck or start a business based on something which has no inherent value. A good recent example are the Directory Generator type websites that are just full of affiliate links and borrowed content. It’s not surprising that they are quickly being removed from all the search engines.

I too have fallen for the quick turnaround business idea. I’ve been involved in all kinds of online marketing endeavors, some of you may remember “Secrets of the Big Dogs”. Don’t see that around anymore do you? Nope, and I’ll tell you why. Only businesses or websites that provide true consistent value of some sort will stick around. I see it even more today than I did 5 years ago as the valuable website are still here and the ones that had no inherent value have disappeared.

Always question what you are doing. Ask yourself if you are providing true unique value to someone. If not, it may be time to move on or change what you are doing. When you have a product or service of true value Search Engines will want you, people will seek you out, and for as long as you provide that value you will never have to worry about becoming outdated.
