I personally have an automated email follow-up system that thanks every customer a few days following their purchase. The email basically tells them how I appreciate their business and lets them know that if they need anything I am here to help. This reassurance has saved numerous refunds, improved the overall customer experience, and also brought me many suggestions, comments, and new opportunities. After you follow up with your customers once, don’t stop! People are more than willing to give you their opinions and you can easily set up a survey using a service like Survey Monkey to get targeted feedback on your product or service. You can also follow up with customers to get testimonials as well. Customer follow-up can also earn you additional income. Once you have thanked your customer for their business don’t forget that you can recommend additional related products and services. This practice which is also known as your backend can earn you even more money than you made from the original sale. Many people make the mistake of neglecting their customers, they figure once they got the sale it’s done and it’s time to find a new customer. Don’t make that mistake!
