I managed to get my site spidered and listed in google within 12 hours of the site going live. In fact the site had been offline until I went live with the product that I was giving away. For me, what made it was that it had a short domain name, google adsense installed, a good cache system to deliver the pages very quickly, SEF Urls, a sitemap submitted to google and, more importantly, an incoming link from joomla.org that generated over 1000 unique visitor views in two hours. Over 30 pages were listed within twelve hours of the site going live and the link being made available on joomla.org. Thats my record and sadly I have not been able to replicate that since then.

Thanks for sharing the great tip! I had already started a campaign of deep linking by linking back to pages within the site rather than just the index, but had not thought to link directly to the sitemap. Flat forehead moment! And isn't it amazing that people will comment with "great theory" and "will it work" when you just said you've gotten results consistently on 10 sites? Well, let's hope they are our competition because we'll be busy putting it into action and rising about them. ;-)

This is an excellent way to get your pages getting indexed. Its bets to get a PR6 or PR7 link comming to your sitemap. Remember to have fresh and site specific content.

I am sure it will work and will surely test it for myself but the only problem is how to get that link from a PR5 + to a PR0 site.

Yes, it works for all the pages quickly. The sites I have done this with were about 500 to 700 pages in size and once it found the link within a day or two all the pages were spidered, then a few days or so the pages started appearing in Google search results.

Will this make Google spider all the pages quickly? Google definetly will pickup the link from the PR6 site and add to its indexing queue, but i am not sure whether all the pages will be spidered. That process is supposed to run normally right?

I'd never thought about doing that, but it's actually obvious once it's pointed out! Cheers :)
