Furl – Favorites on Steroids!

Furl is Favorites on Roids!Still using Internet Explorer or Firefox to manage your favorites? Time to step up to the next revolution of website management and check out Furl.

Furl is a free way to manage and organize your favorite websites online. A social bookmarking tool like Del.icio.us you can share your favorites with others and access them from anywhere in the world. You can also bookmark a site, add a description, add search keywords (to help you find it later), and organize it in folders that you create. If you bookmark a lot of pages you definitely need to check out this free service.

Yet, there was one key feature that sold me on Furl that wasn’t offered by Del.icio.us and I couldn’t do it with anything else.

You see, just the other day I wanted to find a website with some valuable information on it. When I went to that site in my Internet Explorer Favorites I was sadly disappointed that the site was gone. They discontinued the article I was hoping to find. Only if I had saved a copy of the web page on my hard drive!

But who wants to do use up all their hard drive space saving up hundreds of web pages? Furl does! Yes, furl not only keeps your link to the site but they also keep a copy of it! So even if a site you bookmarked is down or the page was discontinued you can still see a copy of the page just like it was the day you bookmarked it!

I personally prefer the look and layout of Furl compared to Del.icio.us. It’s intuitive and easy to organize all your sites the way you want them. Webmasters can also add ‘Furl This’ links to their site that easily allow visitors to bookmark your site to Furl with one easy click!

Why not save all of your favorites with http://www.BlinkList.com? I think you might prefer it over Furl or del.icio.us.

Yeah, I actually like Furl because it saves a copy of the page, they have a toolbar that is easy to use, and it’s a bit more popular so there are more people sharing. Although I think they all have their own advantages/disadvantages. Just a personal preference.
