It’s just amazing that by DEFAULT an anti-virus software decides to block what website publishers want their visitors to see. After all, whose web page is it? In the Kaspersky software I know what option is causing this, and for a more advanced user it’s not that hard to enable/disable. What bugs me is that I see more and more software choosing without user knowledge what MY website will display to the visitor! Shouldn’t I be in charge of that? What a load of crap! Kaspersky is supposed to be the best out there according to PC World magazine this month, and I just can’t believe they are choosing to enable this feature. I suppose in the installation process the did offer me the choice to install components through the ‘custom’ installation option, but how many people do that? The good part is that this software isn’t as popular as say ‘Norton’ or others, not yet anyway. It leaves me to wonder what is to come? Is this Affiliate Doom? What do you think? Hi Miles,
Been reading your postings. I have been a user of Kaspersky 6.0 and now 7.0, and it’s been really well thought out anti-virus in the market today. Needless to say, it’s been designed to work the way it is today. I spend a whole lot of time looking for information and downloading reports and installing programs, and I should say Kaspersky has done it’s job. Prior to Kaspersky, I’ve had to format and install the OS couple of times due to virus and malware. All that’s taken care by Kaspersky now. I am happy with the way it’s working. It’s not the affiliates doom, but yes the doom of affiliates who are using dubious means to do their business with malware scripts and such methods.
